USING YABOING!
********************
YaBoing is a fine little diversion for those moments when you've done
a bit of work, got your coffee, and are gathering momentum for your next
assault. In other words, when you've got nothing else to do. It's mum and
dad were Oing! and Sproing! and I'm sure we'll see more bouncy little
toddlers soon. It comes off Amiga Library Disk 36, and is by Ali Ozer.
To get it going just double-click the icon (try again if it doesn't
come up first time, seems to be a bit reluctant at times), and you'll see
a small title strip come up on your screen. Click on this, and the program
is activated, as you'll see immediately because balls start bouncing
rather crazily round the screen. The game part is to use your mouse pointer
to collide with as many balls as possible (no button selection required)
in a fixed time limit. When the limit is up, the screen will flash and
your score will come up on the YaBoing title strip. To get rid of it just
click on the exit button on the left of the title strip.
It's a pretty visual example of the multi-tasking abilities of the
Amiga, because of course you can keep doing other things while the balls
are bouncing round the screen. You could pull the icon across to your
Workbench as a kind of instant diversion for those quiet moments. For the
more technically minded, it's a good example of hardware sprite usage,
including collision detection. Have a ball.
